Yesterday 7th February, we got together for a general meeting in remote mode. As the project is in its final year there are many issues that need to be solved before the end of the summer.
There are many questions to be answered: are the standalone tests or pilot tests carried out? Is there any other BIM4REN Software Service that supports each individual tool (such as an LOD enhancer etc.)? There are other questions that will help us creating guides for the new and existing tools: Do developers have any guideline material/help tutorial available to support the use of the service by #newcomers? Is the tool developed and ready for use?
We are also planning to do a #hackathon so filed experts can interact with the #tools and for it partners can provide sample input files, files that in some cases are been used in one of the pilots. This event will also allow us to collect information about #usability of the tools and possible integrations.
We also talked about the #stakeholder community and how this tool can be very interesting for the sector. As you might know there are three possibilities in BIM4Ren to join the community and benefit from the knowledge and expertise acquired during the project development.
During the meeting we also pursued four #workshops:
1-Pilots, where we discussed the advances on the pilots, the tools used and what are going to be the demonstration strategy and methodology for each pilot.
2-Training,, we discussed about the material, localisation of the trainings and established the goal of it and its format.
3-OSAP, the main focus on this workshop was about how can we integrate the tools and there are three options: Not web, Web with UI, Web service
4-Whitepaper, finally we learnt that the first draft of the white paper has been elaborated, that it contains information of what BIM can provide to #energy renovation, that it will be easily understandable to anyone. Then, we organised the next steps towards its completion.
There are a series of final events -commercial, standardisation, communication, networking, policy/advocate events, technical- that can be of high interest for BIM4Ren and sister projects (SPHERE, BIMERR, BIMEBB, BIMSPEED, ENCORE and DigiPLACE) and among next steps are related to planning at which events to attend and showcase our achievements.
